<h2>What are the Homologation Regulations (equipment approval)?</h2>
<p>The Homologation Regulations of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) determine the conditions for the technical approval of volleyball sports equipment: which equipment must be approved before use in official competitions, what the procedure for application and testing is, and how the approval mark is affixed to approved products.</p>

FIVB Homologation Regulations 2026

<p class="reg-lead">The current version is the edition of 21 March 2022, in force from 26 April 2022; the text was organised into three parts with an independent procedure for proceedings, and an annex of good governance principles was added to it.</p>

<h2>What are the ethics regulations in volleyball?</h2>
<p>The FIVB Code of Ethics sets out the rules of conduct governing officials, national federations, confederations and other persons under the jurisdiction of the federation, and alongside them it also contains the <strong>procedure</strong> for proceedings in ethics violations: investigation and the bringing of charges, the hearing, and the appeal route. The text is linked to the IOC Code of Ethics, and a breach of that Code is likewise sanctioned on the basis of these regulations.</p>

<h2>About the April 2022 version<span class="reg-tag">Changes from November 2020</span></h2>
<h3>The most significant changes from the previous version</h3>
<ol class="reg-tl">
<li><b class="t">A three-part structure with an independent procedure</b>The text was divided into <strong>scope of application</strong>, <strong>ethics and procedure</strong> and <strong>final provisions</strong>, and separate chapters were devoted to <strong>investigation and the bringing of charges</strong>, the <strong>hearing</strong> and <strong>appeal</strong>.</li>
<li><b class="t">Link to the IOC Code of Ethics</b>It was made explicit that the federation and the persons covered consider themselves <strong>bound by the IOC Code of Ethics</strong>, and that <strong>a breach of that Code is sanctioned on the basis of these regulations</strong>.</li>
<li><b class="t">Repeat offences and aggravation of sanctions</b>The rule on repetition was defined: repetition occurs where, <strong>within five years</strong> of the imposition of a previous sanction, a further sanction is imposed for an offence of the same type.</li>
<li><b class="t">Confidentiality and prohibition of retaliation</b>A chapter was devoted to <strong>confidentiality and the prohibition of retaliation</strong> against those who report.</li>
<li><b class="t">Annex on good governance principles</b>An annex was added enumerating the principles of governance: <strong>vision and mission, democratic structure and process, the highest level of competence and integrity, accountability, transparency and control, solidarity and development, athletes' involvement and care, and a balanced relationship with governments while preserving autonomy</strong>.</li>

<h2>Who this document matters to</h2>
<p>Ethics cases involving officials and national federations — from conflicts of interest and abuse of position to the manipulation of competitions — are heard on the basis of this text. For the defence, the part on procedure is of practical importance: the stage of investigation and the bringing of charges, the right of defence at the hearing, and the time limit and forum for appeal.</p>
