<h2>What are the Licence Regulations?</h2>
<p>The United World Wrestling (UWW) Licence Regulations set the condition of entry to every international competition: no wrestler may take part in competitions on the federation's calendar without a valid licence for the same year. The document determines which competitions the licence is valid for, how the age categories of licence holders are defined, how far the licence holder's insurance and medical cover extends, and before which forum disputes relating to it are heard.</p>

<li><b class="t">Age categories on two criteria</b>The categories are defined by <strong>official age</strong> and <strong>minimum admissible age</strong>: U15 14 to 15 years (from 13), Cadets 16 to 17 (from 15), Juniors 17 to 20 (from 17), U23 19 to 23 (from 18), Seniors 20 years and above (from 18), and Veterans from 35 to 60 years of age.</li>
<li><b class="t">National federation certification for those under the age of majority</b>On purchasing the licence, the national federation must certify that a wrestler who has not yet reached the <strong>age of majority in their own country</strong> has obtained the <strong>written authorisation of their parents or legal representative</strong> to take part in competitions.</li>
<li><b class="t">The boundary of insurance cover</b>The federation's insurance applies to accidents and illness outside the country of residence and in the course of competitions on the official calendar, and is <strong>supplementary</strong> to local insurance; the cost of a licence holder's illness <strong>is not covered in their own country of residence</strong>, and for that reason all licence holders must hold local insurance.</li>
<li><b class="t">Dispute resolution forum</b>Disputes arising from the application of these regulations fall within the exclusive jurisdiction of the <strong>federation's Executive Committee</strong> and, at the next stage, the <strong>Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)</strong>.</li>
<li><b class="t">Authority to amend the regulations</b>Amendment of these regulations rests with the <strong>federation's Bureau</strong>, save for the licence fees, which, on a proposal of the Bureau, fall within the competence of the <strong>Congress</strong>.</li>

<p>For the Iranian Wrestling Federation and for clubs, the licence is the document that establishes a wrestler's national affiliation at international level, and the rules on change of nationality are built upon it. A practical point on medical cover: the federation's insurance applies only on a supplementary basis and after local insurance, and does not cover the cost of licence holders' illness in their country of residence; for that reason the text obliges licence holders to hold local insurance.</p>
