What is this document?

The Regulations of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) are divided into seventeen numbered parts, which sit alongside the Constitution and the Code of Ethics. Each article carries its own three-part number — such as 4.11.010 — the first figure of which is the number of the part itself. This document is Part 4 of that body of regulations.

Mountain bike cycling in all its disciplines: cross-country (XCO), downhill (DHI), enduro (EDR) and marathon (XCM) — covering the calendar, age categories, the World Cup, rankings and teams.

  1. Before the pregnancy mechanismRecognition of pregnancy status for a rider who has taken part in fewer than three rounds does not exist in this edition.
  2. Former downhill structureThe rules on the qualifying round, the number of riders progressing and start intervals in downhill were rewritten in the 2026 edition.

Each case is governed by the edition of the regulations that was in force at the time the events occurred. For that reason earlier editions are not removed from the site and remain available on this page; the current version is available from the list of versions at the top of the page.
