Structure

  1. Preliminary chapter Scope of application and general principles (Articles 1 and 2).
  2. Chapter One — Electoral Committee Composition, duties, convening and quorum, and decisions (Articles 3 to 6).
  3. Chapter Two — Candidatures Eligibility requirements, submission of a candidature and its examination (Articles 7 to 9).
  4. Chapter Three — Confederation Congress Time limit for convening, ballot papers and the remainder of the voting procedure (Articles 10 onwards).

Critical point

The examination of candidates' eligibility (Article 9) is the most common locus of dispute in the elections of sports federations. The time limits laid down in Chapter Three are also preclusive time limits; their expiry cannot be remedied by agreement of the parties.
